Nom banh chok, so-called as Khmer noodles, is one of the ten most delicious Cambodian dishes according to CNNGO. It’s considered as the origin of other noodle version in the other countries in Asia and first appeared in Kampot Province. Nom banh chok is used as a typical breakfast in Cambodia. It involves noodles laboriously pounded out of rice, topped with fish-based green curry gravy. A bowl of nom banh chok is garnished with fresh mint leaves, bean sprouts, green beans, banana flower, cucumbers and other greens. For special events like ceremonial occasions and wedding parties, the Cambodian usually eat nom banh chok with red curry sauce (known as nom banh chok samlor curry).
