Ha Giang took place the opening ceremony of Hmong ethnic culture festival at central Stadium in Meo Vac district on 4 February. This is the first prominent event in Ha Giang province in 2017 to preserve, exploit, reproduce cultural values ​​and create a vast playground for the Mong people in Dong Van Plateau.

Dong Van Plateau in general and Meo Vac districts inhabited by a huge number of ethnic minorities, in which 80% is Mong people. HMong ethnic culture plays an important role and has powerful position in community. There are traditional cultures only in HMong ethnic such as Gau Tao festival, the 30th festival rituals, ceremonies naming mature man,etc.

Mr. Nguyen Cao Cuong, Chairman of People's Committee of Meo Vac district, Ha Giang province, said "the ethnic culture festival is an annual activity held in each spring on the New Year"

This is the 3rd time the festival was held in Meo Vac district. It is considered as the major cultural events of ethnic Hmong and contributed to the preservation of traditional cultural values ​​in the community of nations linked to promoting economic development and tourism, through which, contribute to effective implementation of the Central Resolution V (VIII) on "Building and developing the advanced culture of Vietnam" Come to the festival, visitors will be experienced in interesting activities such as flax and weaving contest roll, enjoy typical dishes (men men, thang co, meat hanging upstairs kitchen) and many cultural and sports activities of ethnic Hmong. Especially, tourists can witness the praise dance collective of nearly 200 pairs of male and female youth Mong ethnic people.
