Prek Treng is an often deserted beach a few kilometres to the north of town. The beach is a long narrow strip of mostly sand interspersed with a few rocky bits that offers wonderfully warm shallow waters. There are no bars, restaurants, shops or amenities and as it is so often deserted very few beach vendors visit, so if going for a while, it is advisable to take food and drinks with you.
To get there take the Hun Sen beach road north a few kilometres past the port and turn left just after you cross the first bridge. If you reach the oil port you have gone too far. If you do not have your own transport it is advisable to ask your motorbike rider or tut-tut driver to either wait for you or to return at a specified time.
