Ba Be Lake

Ba Be Lake is one of the most beautiful destinations of the Northeast. It is actually created by three smaller lakes - Pe Lam, Pe Lu and Pe Leng. It is located on the road that can be combined with many other roads. Ba Be Lake is a freshwater lake in Bac Kan province, Vietnam and in top 100 largest freshwater lake in the world.

The lake is at an altitude of about 145 meters above the sea.

The lake has water surface area of over 650 hectares, approximately 8 kilometers in length with a knot in the middle. Ba Be Lake is surrounded by limestone mountains with caves and underground streams. The average depth is about 20 - 25 meters.

Ba Be lake has a lot of things to offer visitors, including waterfalls, rivers, valleys, lakes, and caves. The lake is surround by many ancient trees where obtain several varieties of precious wood. If you come there, you will be fascinated by tranquil surface and have a chance to enjoy sightseeing boat trips, hikes, and water sports. From Ba be, you can visit such attractions as Dau Dang fall, Puong Cave, Hua Ma Cave and Tien Pond.

Puong cave: is the most beautiful and worth looking in Ba Be lake. It lengthens 300 meters and high over 30 meters. You can visit cave by basket boat and admire the mystery of stalactites that create a lot of interesting shapes.

Hua Ma cave (Động Hua Mạ): It is far Ba Be Lake about 6 kilometers. In order to reach cave, visitors have to climb about 300 meters along with stairs on the gently sloping ridge. There are many mysterious and magical stalactites inside the cave.
